RAMALLAH – Israeli authorities Thursday released lawmaker Ayman Daraghma, from the Jordan Valley town of Toubas, who was held in administrative detention for six months, according to prison advocacy groups.
They said Daraghma, who is a member of the Hamas-affiliated Change and Reform Bloc, was detained in Israeli jails along with 26 other lawmakers.
It said that 23 lawmakers are held in administrative detention, all of whom are members of the Change and Reform bloc, while two others are serving prison sentences, including Fatah strongman Marwan Barghouti and the head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Ahmad Saadat.
Another Fatah lawmaker, Jamal Tirawi, has so far had 80 court sessions but not yet convicted of anything.
